I can't express my anger on this company that calls itself a "cable company" a digital cable company at that; better than satellite. I'm literally laughing out loud In NYC I have used Time Warner, direct tv and dish network. They were all good. In the southwest its simply horrifying the limitations I have fathomed! Such as Job opportunities not being close by or the cable being limited I have never heard of this. In the major cities they offer all the channels yet closer to the south they limit your cable yet they charge you the same as if you had all the channels; Or rather all the basic channels. Direct tv can not do installations if your in the second floor etc more idiotic explanations I have never encountered. I did not leave NY by choice but merely because there was a job opportunity to my significant other! I'm assuming dish network is the same problem as direct TV but I'm definitely giving it a try.

Not only does Cox communications have limited channels but they falsely advertise and the customer service is extremely incompetent I've only had Cox for almost 1 month and I've called more than 20 times. The installation was a horrible experience. I stayed with the service man or cable guy for 3 hours he was trying to install the "high-speed internet" lets not get started on that. He was calling his fellow service co-workers for them to run him through the process. I was patient and then I had to find out what was taking too long he gave me the excuse that it was one of the laptops that had the problem that was of course bull when trying to connect it on another laptop it was the same problem. He didn't know what he was doing and I ended up helping him get the work done. Now hours after he's gone I'm browsing to get to my favorite channels well I don't see court TV I don't see the cooking network, etc so many channels were missing. My fiancé and I call and they tell us they will send a service man out to fix it. We wait a week and the same guy shows up I've never seen that either. So he tells us that this is what they offer and that all the other basic channels are not offered in my area. So we call back demanding an explanation and they tells us they don't know why because they live in the city and they just have no idea so they proceed to apologize etc etc. were still in the same predicament since we are hit with a 250 bill including installation and the limited cable channels. Let me remind you we are still paying as if we had all the basic channels. Direct tv is definitely cheaper!

Bottom line Cox communications is a rip off I don't recommend it. When you are watching the channels there's always problems with them sometimes they look like you are viewing TV without an antenna. And just today we stopped receiving 20 channels just because they stopped offering it in the area when we received the installation information it clearly said we were receiving the variety tear this was the icing on the cake and I called them my fiancé called them and first they told him we weren't suppose to receive those channels that apparently there was a glitch in the system and then I called I guess it's a small company because they new we had called already I called demanding to know why they offered it to us in the first place I told them I had it in writing. Their excuse was that they just simply stopped offering it. When I questioned how come we don't get the same channels that they offer in other areas the rep simply said I don't know I wouldn't be able to tell you! Try calling in the morning! OMG! So now I'm going to dish no questions asked!
