Review of the Crane Sports Jogging Trampoline with Wii Fit Plus Jogging Routines

Winter is not time to run outside. Its cold, and you can fall and slip on the ice and put an end to running for a while with an injury. An indoor treadmill is an option, but they are costly, and rely on electrical parts that breakdown. A cheap alternative is to purchase a jogging trampoline. Jogging or rebounding trampolines are made for one person, and have a smaller jumping area than larger trampolines. They are used for low impact aerobics or for jogging in place.

Usually, the jumping area only has a diameter of about 40 inches. jogging trampoline is round, and has a support bar. You can use these handles to steady yourself as you jog in place. The Crane Sports Trampoline is offered for about $40, and is comparable in price to several other brand name trampolines. The trampoline is fairly lightweight, about 30 lbs. The Crane Sports Trampoline can support up to 220 lbs.

Assembly of the Crane Sports Jogging Trampoline required no tools. All of the parts simply screwed into place. The instructions were clear in concise. For some reason, we ended up with two extra support handles with the one that we purchased.

Once assembled, my wife had no problem moving it around the room. The frame appears to be constructed of steel or sturdy aluminum. The trampoline was supported by an ample amount of steel springs. Compared to the frame construction, the springs may not be the best of quality. The jumping mat is made of a sturdy canvas. The user manual states that the trampoline can support up to a 220 lbs person. Based on the trampoline's construction quality, it seems that this estimate is accurate. If a heavier person were to use this trampoline, the springs seem like they would be the first part to fail.

If you wish to store the trampoline in its side, you can easily remove the support handles by pushing in the locking pins. The pins are spring loaded so they remain connected to the trampoline. If you store the trampoline on its side, the legs will stick out a little bit. The legs can be removed by unscrewing them. The legs are only about six inches long, so this trampoline will easily fit in any closet even if you decide not to remove them.

We plan on using the trampoline to complement our Wii Fit. The Wii Fit contains several jogging routines that have you stand and jog in place holding the Wii remote. The motion sensor in the remote is able to sense your jogging motion. Running in place on a hard floor with no forward motion seems like it would be a little hard on the knees. The jogging trampoline will allow of less impact on the knees, thereby lessening any chances for injury.

An added benefit of this trampoline is that kids love it. They are able to jump to their hearts content while hanging on to the support bar. If they are starting to get a little stir crazy while schools is closed with a snow day, send them to the trampoline to jump out some extra energy. Just be sure they are jumping one at a time. With the support bar in place they stand little chance of loosing their footing and falling of the trampoline and breaking a leg.

We are pleased with the purchase of this jogging trampoline, and it should get plenty of use during the cold winter months.
