I've been a big fan of the Crash Bandicoot series since the first one came out in 1996. I played it non-stop, and loved every second. So, it was only natural for me to go out and buy Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant for Playstation 2 on opening day.

I'm happy to say that this, so far, is my favorite game yet. The first night I got it, I played it for about 4 hours before taking a break. Why? Because, this game is full of amazing gameplay, a huge world totally free for you to to explore and that classic Crash Bandicoot humor that we've come to love.

My favorite feature is Crash's ability to control the creatures that he comes in contact with. This is a huge addition, considering that in every other game, the point was to beat them up and then continue to the end. With this new ability, Crash can use his enemies' abilities to travel the worlds, or to get through certain obstacles, or to attack other enemies, and if you don't need that enemy anymore, you can put it in your pocket and bring it out later.

Crash has a lot of new abilities by himself too. He's been given the ability to dig, like real bandicoots do. That's something that always bothered me. One of the bandicoots most profound feature is that they dig, and Crash never could. But, they have remedied that and now you can find secret items underground. Also, Crash can now climb along walls which really helps in getting from place to place, and adds to the gameplay.

Crash is given some new abilities in combat too. He now has a Roll-and-counter dodge move that can take out enemies with ease.

Most of all, with this game, I must say, even if all these new abilities weren't there. The game keeps that family-friendly fun that games have lost a lot recently. Comedy, adventure, colorful characters, and most of all lots and lots of across-the-board fun.

I would recommend this game for absolutely anyone who likes to play games. The controls aren't that complicated, but it offers a challenge too. I give this game a ten out of ten, and because of the gameplay options, it offers massive replay ability, so I fully expect to love this game for a very long time to come.

Bottom Line: If you're looking for a new game to spend your money on. It's definitely this one. Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutants. I'm off to play more Crash now!
