Review of Creme Savers Ice Cream

There are certain products we don't buy that often because once we get them they disappear far too quickly. After my first bite of Crème Savers Ice Cream I knew this was destined to become one of those products. If you've never tried Crème Savers hard candy, you should. The fruity flavor with a creamy twist is delicious. So when I saw Crème Savers Ice Cream in the freezer at my grocery store, I couldn't resist. I was also impressed that it was low fat. Not only did this make it a little more healthy, but I prefer lower fat ice cream to the thicker full fat ice creams.

This frozen treat combines low fat ice cream and sherbet. It comes in a 1.75 quart container. It's so good I eat way more than the suggested serving size, which is 1/2 cup. I probably eat four times that. But it's not a full fat ice cream, so I've got that going for me. It is not without sugar, however, and I believe that sugar in the diet can be worse than fat. So if I'm going to eat sugar, which I know is bad for me, it had better taste good. Creme Savers ice cream delivers! It comes in Strawberry and Orange flavors. We liked the strawberry so much, that's what we always get now. But I'm sure the orange would not disappoint!

Each 1/2 cup serving contains 110 calories, 1.5 grams of fat. It has 23 grams of carbohydrates, 18 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein. It doesn't contain any trans fat. This ice cream tends to stay a little softer in the freezer, probably due to its being a light product. This is nice because you don't have to struggle with the scooper. It does make it all too easy to dish up a generous serving. What were they saying about that 1/2 cup serving again?

My husband, who typically prefers a chocolate ice cream, loves this stuff. He points to this as evidence that Creme Savers ice cream is indeed special. I even noticed that the carton makes the garbage can smell really good once you toss it. This stuff is so good that it doesn't take long to finish off the carton. As for the gap between the serving size suggestion and my actual serving, I will probably continue to keep Creme Savers in business.
