Review of Crocs Flip Flops

B. Anne
I suffer from heel pain on a regular basis. It is sometimes pretty severe and lands me on the couch with my foot propped up and an ice pack. Cute, fashionable shoes "like everyone else wears" are out of the question if I want to be able to walk comfortably. I was resigned to wearing athletic shoes and the "ever so unpopular -Sensible Shoes" all the time. On the rare occasion that I broke the sensible shoe rule, I paid dearly the next day with almost unbearable heel/foot pain.

Enter the Croc line of shoes! I kept hearing people talk about how great Crocs wore. I even had friends who worked in the medical field talk about wearing them (comfortably) while working a 12-hour shift that required them to stand the entire time.

Finally, I broke down and spent $40 for a pair of Croc Flip Flops. I usually don't buy flip flops; much less pay $40 for a pair of them. But, everyone kept talking about how supportive and comfortable they were. I decided that I would at least try them how -I mean, if you haven't been able to wear fashionable shoes in 3 or 4 years and you think there might be a chance that you have found something that will work -well, let's just say a splurge was in order.

I got home and tried the shoes on. I could tell that they were definitely different from any other sandal or flip flop that I had ever tried to wear. The shoes felt great on my feet. The area near the toes seems to have a very slight lift or rise and the heels are think and cupped shaped. The Croc Flip Flops are soft, yet they are very supportive.

The real test came a couple of days later when I wore them to work. I was on my feet for three hours straight without a chance to sit down. I noticed that my feet didn't hurt at all. I even stayed on my feet doing house work after I got home. This is something that just didn't happen. Usually, I would leave work with my heels hurting and head straight home. I would use an ice pack and prop my feet up for about 30 minutes to an hour before doing anything else. The only shoes that I could wear that didn't take such a toll on my feet were my running shoes (that are not used for running.)

So, the Croc Flip Flops do have the support for my bad feet! I have been so impressed that I purchased a second pair (in a different color, of course) of the flip flops. I also have a couple of other colors picked out for a future purchase. I am so impressed with the Croc line of shoes that I am also planning to purchase some of the other styles so that I can have a variety of shoes to wear year-round.

To finish up, yes, I've tried the less expensive Croc "knock-offs." Do they keep my feet pain free? No, No and No! The imitations just don't have the same support in the sole. I will only wear the Croc brand. To me, spending the extra money just makes sense! I am protecting a very valuable asset -my feet, my mobility, and my ability to be active. I love being able to wear sandals and stand up all day...no more hot feet for me during the summer. I suppose the trade off to paying more for the shoes is that I am not spending money or time at the podiatrist's office.

In closing, I can say with 100% certainty that Crocs are work every penny that you will pay for them. They come in a rainbow of colors and several styles. There is a style for just about every occasion and you can match them with every outfit you own!

I guess we are usually defined by what we do. I am a math professor who prefers to work with education majors. I enjoy going for long walks. I also really love being in the water!  View profile

Thanks for your review. My heels hurt so bad that they burn if I'm on them for long periods of time. I don't like flip flops that leave the area between my toe sore, so I will try these out since they seem pretty lightweight.
