I love Crystal Light. I have been using the powdered mixes for months now. So when I saw that they had come out with the brand new multi-serve bottles of the ready to drink Crystal Light I had to try it out. I purchased the multi-serve, 64 ounces, bottle of Crystal Light Lemonade thinking it would be just as good or better than the powdered mixes that I usually make myself at home. Unfortunately I was wrong in this presumption.
This new ready to drink Crystal Light in the multi-serve bottle still has only five calories per serving and it still has the lemonade flavoring but it's just not as tastey as the powdered version. Which seems kind of odd just to say and type about a powdered drink but it's unfortunately true in this case. This new Crystal Light version tastes like a very watered down lemonade. To come close to this taste you would have to let a glas of iced lemonade sit on the counter until all of the ice melts and then drink it. As if that was not bad enough, it has a slight after taste that I never get from the powdered version.
Another disadvantage to buying the Crystal Light in the multi-serve bottle, aside from the taste, is that it only has eight servings per bottle. This is fine and dandy if you only drink it occassionally. But if you are super serious about getting your eight to ten servings of water per day and Crystal Light is the only way you are doing that, then you would end up having to buy one bottle of Crystal Light each and every day. This would be outrageously expensive. Where as you can buy a canister of the powdered Crystal Light and get close to a week's worth of Crystal Light from it. It is much more cost efficient to go with the powdered canister versions than the ready to drink Crystal Light and it has a better taste, in my opinon.
Some people may enjoy the ready to drink Crystal Light for it's ease and readiness. If you find that the powdered versions have a flavor that is too strong for your taste then the ready to drink is definitely for you. But if you are more like me and prefer a lemonade drink to actually taste like lemonade then stay away from the Crystal Light Lemonade in the multi-serve bottle. It's just not up to the normal standards of taste that I've grown to love when I enjoy a glass of Crystal Light Lemonade.
Lastly, the multi-serve bottles only come in three flavors right now - Lemonade, Raspberry Ice and Sunrise Classic Orange. Where as the powdered Crystal Light comes in fifteen different flavors for you to enjoy, including four different flavors of teas. That means you could end up drinking something different for two weeks if you drink a different Crystal Light every day of the week. I have tried several of the different flavors available and I have enjoyed each and every one of the powdered versions.
If you are interested in trying out the new Crystal Light in the multi-serve bottle I would suggest you try it before trying the powdered versions so that you won't be too disappointed. If you have already enjoyed the powdered versions then I would suggest not bothering with the ready to drink Crystal Light. I was very disappointed in it and I am very grateful that I bought it while it was on sale at my grocery store. I will not be making that mistake again. If you do decide to try out the powdered version of Crystal Light then it is nice to know that they also offer boxes of single serving Crystal Light for your bottled waters. All you have to do is pour it into your bottled water and shake. Then you will have a yummy and healthy drink to take with you, whereever you may be headed.
