PROS
Cape Fear River Trail
The complex is located about a half mile from the Cape Fear River trail. It's a beautiful four mile trail that is great for a run, bike ride, or a place to walk your dog. There is also a soccer complex located right next to the trail. On weekends my husband and I sometimes venture down and watch a few games. It's a nice little getaway especially when the weather is nice.
Location
Cumberland Trace is located just down the street from Wal Mart and a long list of restaurants. I love the fact that I don't have to travel across the city to buy groceries or grab a quick bite to eat.
Living Space
My husband and I live in a spacious (1100 sq ft.) two bedroom two bathroom apartment. The rooms are big and I love the layout in the Master Bedroom, it has a separate nook for the two closets, vanity sink and a small, separate room for the toilet and tub. Our guest bedroom has a very large walk-in closet that I use to its full capacity! The guest bedroom also has a door leading to what we call the 'public restroom.' There is another door that leads from the entry hallway into the second bathroom. Off of our balcony we have a small storage space that is absolutely wonderful to store seasonal clothing and holiday decorations.
The kitchen, however, is small but the storage areas are sufficient for the amount of dishes and food we store. Despite the small kitchen, the apartments come with standard appliances including a refrigerator, stove/oven, dish washer and washer and dryer hookups.
Neighbors
We have wonderful neighbors who are very friendly and considerate. They make living at Cumberland Trace quite enjoyable when they stop to chat and I don't have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night to loud music or noises.
CONS
Parking
The parking has become very crowded in front of our apartment complex. It can become rather annoying when we have to park at the apartment complex across the street and walk home!
Maintenance
This is my biggest concern and complaint. We have had a very extensive roof leak and I have contacted the office five times in a two month period. They sent someone out to fix the leak after the second complaint I made, however, the roof continued to leak leaving very large brown stains on our living room ceiling. I have complained three times since and not had any success in having it further repaired. Hopefully we can resolve this issue quickly over the next few weeks.
I hope that my review has been helpful. Happy apartment searching!
