Review of the Deadliest Warrior Video Game

The Deadliest Warrior video game is available for Xbox 360 on the Live network and also for Playstation 3. This game takes its name from the Spike television that often has viewers guessing which warrior from history is going to win as they duke it out in computer simulated battles, but only after a review of the opponents' weapons and strategies.

Players can suit up as an apache, samurai, pirate, ninja, knight, spartan, viking, or centurion. Every Deadliest Warrior character has some strengths and weaknesses which help give the game some sense of balance. Each character comes with a set of three weapons-one for close-range, one for mid-range and one for long-range. Playing in single-player mode provides the opportunity to unlock more things, such as new weapons for the characters. The AI in the single-player mode can sometimes be very difficult, but at other times really easy to beat.

The Deadliest Warrior has enough violence in it to calm anyone's need for blood in their video games. It could easily rival Mortal Kombat and the best part about it is that you can sever limbs from your opponent's body. There are other gruesome things that the warriors can do to each other as they fight for supremacy, such as throwing spears through their opponent's skull.

For a fighting game, The Deadliest Warrior is not the best one ever, but it does make for a fun game night. There is not much depth to the game, but I think the game was just made for fun and not meant to be very complex. The commands are easy to learn and it is enjoyable to play with a buddy. Players can also play against online opponents if they want to.

This is not a game that players are going to spend too much time trying to figure out. The Deadliest Warrior is pretty basic, but the price of only $10.00 can't be beat. It costs almost just as much to rent a game from a video store these days.
