Delicious Bakery is on Charoen Krung Road between Soi 44 and 42/1. It is less than a five minute walk from the Saphan Taksin BTS station and the Central Pier or the Oriental Pier on the Chao Phraya River Express Boat. From the BTS, turn left onto Charoen Krung Road. The bakery will be on your left side and is marked by a circular orange and white sign. It's a 10-minute walk from the New Road Guest House, and also not too far from the Oriental Hotel, the Shangri-La and the Royal Orchard Sheraton.
Food
Breakfast and bakery items are certainly their forte. You can choose from a variety of pastries such as an apple puff (10 baht, $0.28) or a bacon croissant (25 baht, $0.71). They also have muffins and cookies attractively wrapped to give away as gifts. I found it completely filling to just have a bacon or ham croissant each morning with a drink, making my total breakfast costs about $1.50 or less.
For lunch you can get several options that are basically Thai food with a Western twist. They have Spaghetti Tom Yum and several other pasta based dishes from 55 baht ($1.50) and up. On Sundays, the kitchen closes early at 6pm.
Drinks
The drink menu is more extensive than the food menu. I didn't find the coffee to be that impressive, but the hot cocoa and the cold drinks were great. There are a variety of smoothies and ice drinks that you can order from. Hot drinks start at 30 baht ($0.86) and cold drinks made with ice are a bit more expensive, on average about 40 baht ($1.14).
Ambiance
Delicious Bakery is small and only have about 5 small tables. In the morning, you'll find singles and couples eating breakfast before work. There is a TV on but it's too loud that you can't talk to whoever you're eating with. It's pretty quiet and there's no smoking allowed inside. The orange and silver color scheme make the place seem sunny and open, and the staff is very friendly.
If you're staying near the Chao Phraya River or the Saphan Taksin BTS Station, Delicious Bakery is a wonderful place to stop for breakfast, lunch or tea. Prices are much cheaper than most hotel breakfasts, and the food lives up the bakery's name....delicious!
