One of these meals I enjoy making for my family is Mexican. On these nights I have found that a product by Heinz called Delimex Taquitos are a great substitute for going out. They make these Taquitos in several flavors. I prefer the steak and there is also beef and chicken.
Each one of these Taquitos are small rolled up flour tortillas and stuff with either beef, steak or chicken and then fried. Inside each one you will find there are lot's of variation's of ingredients. From beans, cheese, sauces, special blends of seasonings and peppers.
I make these about once a week and they are very affordable. You can buy them in bulk in a large box or as small as you will need. I prepare these in the oven and cook them for about 20 minutes until they are thoroughly cooked and the cheese is melting.
These are easily prepared in the microwave as well but frankly, I much prefer to have them heated in the oven. If you would like a more restaurant style flavor to them then add some olive oil in a frying pan and pan fry them for a few minutes.
I serve these Taquitos to my family along with black beans and rice and salsa and chips. You can use your imagination in what dishes you would like to serve with these great tasting appetizers. simply add salsa and sour cream and you'll never know your not in a restaurant.
There are no trans fats inside these appetizers and they are made from corn tortillas. If you would like a smaller box to enjoy then you can buy a 4.2 ounce of the Taquitos with chicken and they will cost you around 1.25 a box. With the chicken and cheese you'll receive 320 calories for a serving size.
The chicken and cheese Taquitos are made up with 20% fat and 25% of sodium. On a good note, you'll receive 11 grams of protein eating these appetizers and 3 grams of fiber. There is also 13% of your total carbohydrates inside these.
These sale in most all local super markets and can be found in the freezer section. If you would like more information about these or any other Heinz product simply log into their web site at www.Heinz.com.
