Review: Dermaroller

Bob Sagette
A Dermaroller looks like an archaic torture device and is more commonly used in Brazil and India. It consists of a handle with a rolling drum that has hundred of tiny surgical steel spikes. The idea is that it creates micro-channels in the skin. They call this process micro-needling. This stimulates the epidermis to create new skin and production of collagen. It is said to improve acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks and more. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are rumored to use a Dermaroller. You can see more about the dermaroller from The Doctors and Rachel Ray.

Call me crazy but I purchased a Dermaroller from Leaf and Rusher. Leaf and Rusher was started by Dr. Norman Leaf, a famous Beverly Hills dermatologist and Rand Rusher.

When I received the dermaroller I was please to see that the needles were very tiny. The instructions said to cleanse the face first, then begin the dermarolling in three different directions with light pressure. Then immediately after apply your face products before the micro-channels close up. It was relatively painless and I noticed an instant glow!

It is important to disinfect it with hot water after each use and you should start out using it three times a week only and then work up to everyday. I have only been using it for two weeks but I already notice radiant skin and smaller pores.

The dermaroller has become an indispensible part of my everyday routine and I would suggest it to anyone.
