Review: Diet Coke Plus

Cheryl Webb
I have never been a fan of diet drinks. To me they all taste a bit off. I guess that is the different sweeteners that are used to make them less fattening. However, I have never been able to really drink any diet drinks. I know many friends and family who drink diet drinks and love them, I am just not one of those people. So when I was walking through the grocery store a few weeks ago and saw a tasting area set up for Diet Coke Plus I was not to eager to try it out. There was a very nice lady behind the tasting table who told me I really should give it a try. I gave in and tasted the brand new Diet Coke Plus. I was very pleasantly surprised. It did not taste exactly like regular Coca-Cola Classic, however it also did not have the after taste that most diet drinks have that I find so revolting.

I decided to buy a pack of this drink so my husband could try this drink. He really likes it as well! I also have family who are diabetic and they can not drink regular non-diet soft drinks. I like to keep these diet drinks on hand for whenever they are visiting at our home. For me the best thing about Diet Coke Plus is not the price, it is not even the taste, it is the plus.

Diet Coke Plus is not just a soft drink, it is a healthy soft drink! For every 8 ounce serving of Diet Coke Plus that you drink you not only get a refreshing carbonated beverage, but also 15% of your daily value of Niacin, vitamin B6 and also vitamin B12. Then you also have 10% of your daily value of zinc and magnesium.

Sure, carbonated beverages are not the healthiest way to get your vitamins, but in my opinion it is much better to get vitamins from them if you are going to drink them! I definitely think that this is a wonderful way to get more people to drink carbonated beverages. I know many people try and stay away from drinking carbonated beverages because they are not healthy. The Coca-Cola company decides to make a soft drink with vitamins in it, what better way to help reach out to more people!

Diet Coke Plus is only available in 12 packs of cans, and also 20 ounce bottles. I am sure once the craze catches on, the Coca-Cola company will offer this drink in a wider variety of sizes.

I have only one question for the Coca-Cola company, when are more of your drinks going to have vitamins added to them too?
