Review of DiGiorno Bacon Blitz Pizza

Daisy May
Frozen pizza should taste as good as fresh made delivered pizza, and that has been the motivation behind DiGiorno advertisements as long as I can remember. I never worry about quality when I buy DiGiorno pizza, and that is why I never hesitated to buy DiGiorno Bacon Blitz frozen pizza when I seen it on the shelf. But was I as thrilled with this new variety as I had been with the others from DiGiorno?

The box of DiGiorno Bacon Blitz frozen pizza states that this variety is available for a limited time only. Of course, if the public makes a great demand for DiGiorno Bacon Blitz pizza it is possible that DiGiorno will make their Bacon Blitz pizza a year round item.

First off, I chose to follow the softer crust directions which state to place the frozen pizza on a pizza pan or cookie sheet instead of placing on an oven's wire rack. The crust was perfect when baked. The top edge was slightly crisp but the entire crust underneath was soft and tasty. I could not have asked for a more fresh and delicious bread.

I was a little surprised at the shape of the crust however. Instead of a nearly perfect circle, the crust was misshapen with one side stretched out, or possibly pushed in. This was probably uncharacteristic of the DiGiorno Bacon Blitz frozen pizza, but it deserves to be noted since it made the pizza pieces chaotically sized.

The bacon topping was generously spread all over the pizza. There was no need to rearrange the topping from one side to the other. After the pizza was cooked, sliced and handed out, it was noticed that a small amount of onion was on it. I took a better look at the pizza box and discovered the bacon wasn't alone, but rather it was accompanied by salami and onions. The DiGiorno Bacon Blitz Pizza was good, and the taste didn't fall short of what I had come to expect of DiGiorno frozen pizzas.

I bought my DiGiorno Bacon Blitz Pizza at my local Wal-Mart. The cost was an inexpensive four dollars and ninety-eight cents, slightly more than the Great Value brand of frozen pizzas. However, DiGiorno Bacon Blitz is the only pizza I seen there that was only bacon. DiGiorno brand is available at most quality grocery stores and national chains.

I would recommend the DiGiorno Bacon Blitz frozen pizza to bacon lovers and to those that are wanting a change from the ordinary pepperoni pizza. I can't think of anyone, other than bacon haters, that wouldn't be happy with DiGiorno Bacon Blitz frozen pizza.
