Review for Dirt Devil 100 Classic 7-Amp Bagless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Jamie Cortez
For some people lugging their heavy upright to clean the stairs is just too much. To them one reasonable solution is to get a lightweight vacuum either handheld or stick. If you are one of those people you should consider the Dirt Devil 100 Classic bagless handheld. It can make your stair-cleaning experience less painful.

Pros

This unit is a corded vacuum so you don't need to worry about batteries run dry and you don't need to wait hours recharging this unit until it's ready to go. It comes with a 20-foot power cord which should be enough to take care of long stairways without changing power outlets.

Whether you're cleaning the stairs, couch, sofa or chair this handheld vacuum can suck in enormous amount of dust, dirt and pet hair. You can clean them thoroughly with just one or two passes. The dirt cup is big enough for a handheld vac so you don't need to empty it too often. It is easy to empty too.

The Dirt Devil 100 Classic has five attachments included (blow-molded 24-inch-long hose, extension wand, a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery brush). The upholstery bush is great for picking up cat and dog hair from upholstery. The crevice tool and dusting brush work well too.

Cons

This bagless handheld vacuum comes with HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter which can trap 99.7% of allergens and fine dust. The bagless design of this vacuum makes it kind of useless. When you empty the dirt cup some of the fine dust will just go back to the air you breathe. The filter gets clogged real quick so you need to clean it frequently (which will pour some more dust into the air).

Despite the small size this Dirt Devil handheld vacuum is quite noisy. It is also quick to get warm so you may only want to use it for a few minutes.

Conclusion

In terms of performance the Dirt Devil 100 Classicis excellent. The price is just right (about $40 in most store) and the attachments make the cleaning performance even better. If you don't mind about the loud noise this thing makes then this handheld vacuum could be the one you need to keep your stairs and furniture clean.
