In searching, I decided on the Disney PixMax 3.1 mega pixel digital camera. While it retails for around $80, I was able to get it for $50, thanks to Best Buy's after Thanksgiving sale. The camera can be hard to find, especially around holiday times; since t is marketed as a children's camera for ages five and up, although it is too advanced for a five-year-old. I liked the bundle it comes in because you get the camera, the connection plug from the camera to the computer, and photo editing software. The camera holds 38 pictures on 3.1 mega pixels. For lower quality mega pixel (which is adjustable on the camera), you can get significantly more pictures. There is a built in flash, and the camera requires 2 AA batteries. As for battery life, I have used the camera for approximately five trips, and just now am having to replace the batteries.
When using the camera, it is very easy, although the flash is proving to be somewhat difficult. If I don't use it in low light situations, the picture turns out too dark. If I use it in low light situations, the picture turns out too white. I have learned, and recommend, that this camera is perfect for bright, sunny days. It also features an excellent zoom feature, which is great for photographing far-away objects, such as animals at the zoo. In addition, should any of my pictures not turn out right, the Disney PixMax features a trash can button for picture disposal.
After uploading pictures, I transfer some to the software to add on Disney borders. I do not need to add on characters because the camera has a built-in feature that allows Disney characters and related objects (such as mouse ears) to be superimposed when the actual picture is being taken.
If recommending the Disney PixMax, I have to say, this digital camera is definitely a good camera for pre-teens and teens. As a 30-something adult and Disney fan, I love it and all of its features. If you are in the market for a digital camera, and will be taking pictures in strong sunlight, then the Disney PixMax digital camera offers great features on a budget.
