The Dogfish Head Ale House located at 13041 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy in Fairfax, VA 22033-2001 is a family style joint similar to an upscale Outback. The only reason to go is for the beer because the food is average. I went with a group of eight and was seated in a private room at a large table. It was nice, but I wish we had made a reservation so we didn't have to wait so long. The staff kept us updated and was very conscientious.

Atmosphere - It's wooden, everything is made out of wood. If you like looking at wood and creative bar adds then you'll enjoy this place. The bar area is a pit in the middle with booths seated around it. The place feels smaller than it really is and the low lighting makes it feel smaller.

Food/Drink - The beer is great, but do not try the fort, it was awful. It's like drinking wine and you really just want to send it back. Everything else I tried was super good. The food is average at best. I had salmon and wasn't really moved by it.

Service - The staff is very attentive and come around often to refill your drinks.

Cost - The beers are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The food is normally priced for such a place, but really I would just come here for the beer. That is if you like DogFish Head Ale.
