Review of Double Eagle M3 Shotgun

Chris Chen
The Double Eagle M3 shotgun is modeled after the real M3 Benelli. In real life, it is either semi-automatic or pump action. However, the Double Eagle features a revolutionary multi-shot spring action shotgun that was introduced first by Tokyo Marui. However, at only 50 dollars, it is clearly for those who can't afford to shell out 200-300 dollars on airsoft. This gun is perfect for entry-level players or collectors. It comes into its own in any CQB situations. The tri-shot guarantees a tight grouping at short range but to date, I have been able to hit a target at a max of 80 feet so this is not the right gun for outdoors against players toting fully loaded assault rifles. The gun is larger and the pump mechanism is a little more resistant than expected. In order to use this gun, you need to use both hands. What I mean is that you have to simultaneously push forward with the hand on the grip while pulling back on the pump to load faster.
Out of the box, this gun comes with 1 shell that holds around 30 rounds. You can buy more from online sights or from retailers. Extra shells usually go for 15 dollars for 6 shells that makes them relatively inexpensive. I'd recommend buying at least one extra pack of shells if you plan on playing recreationally with these guns. For simple target practice, it is not so necessary to buy extra shells but it does make it more convenient. This gun is made which plastic that feels a bit cheap but what can you expect for 50 dollars? The rubberized grip makes working the pump that much easier because of the increased friction and the gun is very light and much more maneuverable than an assault rifle in a close quarters situation. Though this gun does not pack too much power, clocking only 300 on average, it is adequate for the type of play you will inevitably be using it for. Close quarters usually have a limit on the speed of the projectiles anyways. Also, this gun is not prone to jamming and all of your BBs will be used up after 10 shots. For 50 dollars, this gun is definitely worth the buy. It does not come with any top rails for a red dot but you do not really need one.
