Review of New Downy Unstopables- Fresh in Wash Boosters
Does the Fresh Scent Truly Last Until the Next Washing?
Whenever I come across something new in my local super-center, I naturally stop to check it out. Laundry detergent and fabric softeners are always one of my favorite isles to browse for new fragrances. When I came across a newbie addition to the Downy family, I was pretty excited considering the fact that the product itself was something entirely new to the laundry department.
Instead of a liquid or powder method of cleaning/adding scent to your clothes, you instead get a plastic container filled with odd looking pellets.
At first I thought that these pellets were to be added to your dryer, like the Bounce Dryer Bar. However new Downy Unstopables are actually to be added to your wash.
What does it do?
These small pellets come in 2 scents, Lush and Fresh, and basically you just add them to your wash for an added long lasting boost of scent.
Inside of the container, the Fresh scent smelled wonderful, so I went ahead and picked that one. Lush smells more like an exotic darker Jasmine scent, if that's something you like.
My Use:
I had blanket and bedsheets to wash, so I did not hesitate or waste any time when it came to using Downy Unstopables.
I poured the pellets into the included cap as directed, and added them to my wash load. You still have to add laundry detergent and fabric softener, as these pellets are simply a scent boost.
After my load was done, I did notice a much more potent scent in the air; even more so when the blankets were placed into the dryer.
Once everything was finished, I placed the blankets back onto the bed, and did not think much of it. The scent was strong, fresh and lovely, but I wondered if it would be like every other average load of laundry. You know, where the scent just fades in a few hours.
Low and behold though, while lounging in bed watching TV, the scent was still there, and what I really found impressive was how after leaving the room, the scent managed to not just flood my blanket, but my clothes as well, and all I was doing was laying on top of the blankets.
Overall:
The scent lasts, and it is strong. Not only does this scent saturate your wash load, but if you happen to wash a blanket it will also stick to your pajamas, or clothes that you were wearing while laying on the fabrics that were washed using Downy Unstopables.
All in all, I found the in wash scent booster to be truly a pleasing addition to my wash loads, and I am excited to see what new scents they will be adding to the new line.
