Review of Dr. Scholl's Heel Pain Relief Orthotics

Suffering from plantar fasciitis can be tough. Plantar fasciitis is a condition which causes moderate to severe pain on the bottom of one's heels while standing, walking, and running. The pain is caused due to irritation and swelling of the tissues inside the heel. The pain tends to be worse after you stand from a sitting position.

My husband suffered from this condition, so after some research I decided to purchase Dr. Scholl's Heel Pain Relief Orthotics. Relief! He's on his feet in dress shoes most days, and found the help he needed with this product.

To use, you remove the soft foam inserts and place them in the appropriate shoe. These inserts would work very well with virtually any type of shoe. Each insert is labeled as being for right or left. You'll notice several holes in each insert which serve to provide ventilation. The shoe inserts come in one size for men, and one size for women, and are a light beige color.

When I started suffering from the effects of plantar fasciitis, I immediately went to the drugstore and purchased a pair of these orthotics for myself. I mostly wear tennis shoes, and walk my dog on hard pavement. While inside the house, I rarely wear shoes...a no-no for those with this painful condition.

I happily placed the orthotics in my tennis shoes and took my puppy for a long walk. I felt no immediate relief. Thinking it was just going to take a bit of time for my feet to adjust, we continued our walk. By the time we returned home, I had experienced no relief from these orthotics! I checked to ensure I had inserted them correctly, and I had.

After several more wearings, including short-term wearings to grocery shop, etc., I removed the inserts. I simply got no relief.

What did finally bring relief? I started wearing hard-soled slippers while at home and doing stretching exercises about which I learned online.

If you or someone you know suffers from plantar fasciitis, I would recommend trying Dr. Scholl's Heel Pain Relief Orthotics. Although they didn't help me, they did alleviate the pain my husband suffered.
