Durango's Mexican Grill is an affordable, family friendly Mexican restaurant at 1706 Frederick Road near Tiger Town Mall in Opelika, Alabama.
It was early on a Sunday evening when my family and I ate there. We were promptly seated and offered drinks. The restaurant was comfortable and decorate in a Mayan / Mexican theme with paintings, decorative hanging plates and stucco walls. It was very inviting and relaxing.
We had an appetizer and they brought us the typical chips and salsa as well. The menu says extra chips cost $1 but they brought more without charge. We received our food within fifteen minutes. The entrees tasted wonderful and there was more than enough. We were all able to take leftovers home.
Our waiter was very considerate and always kept our drink glasses full and asked if the food was okay. We all loved the food. The fajitas only came with three tortillas and I wish there had been a couple more, but I used my fajita filling the next day in an omelet. It was just as excellent as the night before.
The prices are average to high for the location, depending on what you get. Take out is available and they offer drink specials. We are definitely going there again.
