Review: Eclipse Movie Brings Back Romance of Twilight

Eclipse is the Best Movie of the Twilight Saga

Julie Lind
I just got back from watching the movie Eclipse and I am so relieved to say I loved it! Eclipse has become my favorite movie of the Twilight series.

All of the romance, beauty and style of the original Twilight movie is back along with some awesome special effects and great love triangle scenes between Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).

Throw in some humor, a much better looking Edward (I thought he looked horrible in New Moon), a shirtless Jacob (Edward asks if he even owns a shirt) and you've got a movie that is sure to please most Twilight fans.

The special effects have definitely stepped up a notch since New Moon and Twilight. When Edward glistens in the sunlight he looks beautiful. When the wolves enter the scene I wanted to reach out and pet them because they looked so real. The fighting scenes are very exciting and look authentic.

I loved learning more about some of the characters' history by seeing flashbacks of their pre-vampire lives. Rosalie tells Bella her sad story about how she was turned into a vampire. Jasper shows Bella his battle scars with flashbacks to his life leading a newborn army. Billy shares the Native American story about the third wife who saved her family by killing herself.

One of my favorite Twilight characters is Charlie. Charlie has a dry sense of humor that shines in Eclipse. I loved the scene when Charlie asks Bella if she is being "safe" with Edward. You can just feel how uncomfortable Bella and Charlie are while discussing Bella's sex life.

I found it very emotional when Bella visits her mother. Her mother tells Bella how much she will miss her while she's away at college. Kristen Stewart does an excellent job showing the emotional pain she is feeling knowing it may be the last time she ever sees her mom.

My favorite scene is the tent scene. Edward and Bella are staying in a tent so Bella can provide the newborn army with her scent, but be far enough away to be safe from danger. A snow storm moves in and Bella nearly freezes to death. Jacob shows up and volunteers his warm body to keep Bella warm. At first Edward refuses, but then he realizes it is what is best for Bella. This leads to Jacob and Edward having a heartfelt conversation about who is better for Bella.

I definitely give the movie Eclipse a thumbs up! It's the kind of movie you will want to see over and over again.
