I was thinking that surely, between the both of us, we could find fifty songs! I looked over the course of several more days and found a few songs, but by then, we still had thirty-five more to go! This was very unusual for us. We both have such eclectic music taste and collectively own around eight-hundred compact disks. We like most music in many genres, with a few exceptions. To put it simply, there is not much music we don't like.
We did end up finding some songs we liked, but most were re-makes by other people! I don't understand why someone would want something like that. We wanted recordings by the original artists. Some were even re-makes by the original artist, but were not as good as the original recording. Some were recorded with a gap of decades between the original and the re-recording. In most cases, during a long gap of time like that, most artists voices may change and may sound different. The worst thing was that many of the songs available, had really bad sound quality.
We did find a children's section, with songs that our kids like, so we did use the remainder of our credits by settling on some children's music! Instead of having a great collection of new songs, we have mostly children's music from emusic. So, we get to listen to artists like The Wiggles and Laurie Berkener instead of what we were hoping for. It was free, so I guess it really does not matter!
If you were to purchase this service, they charge you a monthly fee, which I believe is $9.99 per month and you could download thirty songs per month. You do get to keep the songs when you discontinue your service, unlike other services. That is one advantage.
Overall, we were highly disappointed in emusic. There are too many other music services that give you quality recordings by the original artists with a much better selection, to settle for something like this. I would not bother with emusic, unless you get a free trial! It certainly do not recommend it, unless they improve it greatly. It is definitely not worth paying $9.99 per month.
