A few days ago, my wife and I were out doing some grocery shopping and decided to stop off in the snack aisle. We originally intended on just buying some snacks for my daughter's school lunches. But, she noticed a box of Entenmann's Classic Donuts and, wanting something to eat for breakfast the next morning, my wife picked them up.
I have had other products from this brand in the past and thought they were pretty decent. But, this was the first time I had even seen their donuts and wasn't really sure what to expect from them. After all, they weren't much cheaper than the donuts we could have purchased at the bakery and I figured the bakery donuts would be fresher. However, I learned a long time ago not to argue with my wife over small things like this so I didn't object when she put them in the cart. And, the very next morning, I was one of the first of us to try them.
I have to admit, they were pretty decent.
I ended up trying a chocolate donut first because those are my favorites and one of the first things I noticed about it was how fresh it was. As I said before, this was a bit of a concern for me both because of the fact we could have just bought donuts at the bakery and because I have had other boxed donuts in the past that were pretty stale. These, however, seemed as fresh as what we could have gotten if we would have purchased donuts from the bakery and the fact they were less expensive was a bonus.
Another thing I liked about these was the taste. Like I said before, I ended up trying one of the chocolate donuts in the variety pack. This is the type of thing that can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to taste because there are plenty of chocolate donuts that are actually too sweet tasting and I'm not a fan of those; especially first thing in the morning. These, however, had just the right amount of sweetness to them; enough to make them enjoyable without going overboard.
I had a chance to try a couple other donuts from this box too and thought they were just as good as the chocolate donuts so; overall, I was very happy with this purchase. In fact, the next time I'm shopping for donuts, I might look for these instead of buying from the bakery.
