Conflict Part Deux
The other predictable tension arises with the re-introduction of Sammy and Ronnie. Sammy arrives early in the house and seems to frantically pace back and forth contemplating how to handle the return of ex boyfriend Ronnie from season one. Old wounds seem fresh between the two since the break up at the end of season one.
Sammy and Ronnie hash out old sores from the past in Sammy's room and the two seems to act like they never broke up as they hate each other so much they are in........love. Um, seriously? The fun does not stop at the Miami shack as Ronnie gives Sammy an earful on the way back from the club. Nasty comments ensue with Ronnie calling Sammy a barrage of names including the ill advised "C" word. Before they get home, the intoxicated Ronnie carries forward his pledge to go "creepin" to the annoyance of Sammy.
More of the Same
Nicole and JWow do their best five minute impression of Thelma and Louise on the way to Miami with a quick stop in a southern bar/diner. They are treated to southern novelties as a deep fried pickle of which Snookie thinks is truly amazing. Aside from her concerns about her bronzer failing her, this is much sleepy dialogue that MTV could have skipped. The girls are offered a complimentary shot by a local townie that does a poor job of fist pumping according to Snookie.
The footage of the show maintains a grainy fuzzy appearance. I am not sure why MTV does this other than to put the audience in a catatonic state. The haziness is exasperated by the barely audible sound quips of Sammy and Ronnie and the theatrics in the car ride to the club. Turning up the volume does not help understand the conflict. The antics of the Situation, Paulie D, and Vinnie are pretty minimal in the first episode. Ronnie is a whole other story as he picks a dark corner of the club and makes out with two grenades as defined by the Situation. I can only imagine the conflict to come in episode two.
