Review: Essie Quick-E Drying Drops

Anyone who has ever worn nail polish has had to suffer waiting two or three hours for the polish to be completely dry before you can touch anything, or let even think about letting anything come near your hands. For the impatient, the question becomes: how can I get my nail polish to dry faster?

Getting polish to dry faster is something that many of us have struggled with. Countless sprays and topcoats claiming to cut drying time in half have come out over the years and I have been suckered into trying most of them with zero results. That is, until a friend let me try the Essie Quick-E drops.

The drops come in a small bottle with a dropper top, about the size as the other Essie nail polishes. The formula is clear, colorless and odorless. You are supposed to apply one drop to each of your nails once you've finished painting them - including your topcoat, if you're using one. Essie claims that the Quick-E drying drops will dry your nail polish through every coat that you have applied, which for me us usually four - base coat, two color coats, and clear topcoat. Needless to say, I was skeptical.

After manicuring my nails as usual, I applied one drop of the Essie Quick-E drops to each of my nails and watch it spread across the nail completely, as if it had a mind of its own. This was the first thing that impressed me - one drop was all it took for my nails, and the formula seemed to cover only my nail and not leak onto my cuticle. This was a definite plus, as the formula is oil based and feels slightly greasy to the touch.

Just to be on the safe side, I continued to be careful with my nails for a few minutes after applying the drops. However, half an hour passed and I had completely forgotten that I even had nail polish on, and I began running my thumbs over my fingernails - a habit I have during work time. My polish did not budge in the least. No fingerprints, no smudges. I almost couldn't believe it, but decided that the true test would come over night. I woke up the next morning, expecting to find the dreaded sheet marks in my nails and was pleasantly shocked to find that my nails were perfect. Pristine, with no marks or imperfections.

I can not believe how well the Essie Quick-E Drying Drops work. I have recommended them to everyone I have come across and certainly see this as a product I will be buying more of. This is an absolute miracle worker. If you want perfect nails without the wait, these drops are the way to go!
