I am really on the fence with Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush-on Illuminator after using it for the first time.
The illuminator comes in one of those annoyingly quirky twist up brush applicator tubes. I had a lip gloss from Estee Lauder with the same time of applicator, and I knew that it had its downfalls. You see you twist the bottom of the tube in order to begin to push up the product.
Like the lip gloss, Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush-on Illuminator takes a lot of twisting to get the illuminator to finally reach, and saturate the top brush. The following day though, you will find a ton of the product leaking out of the brush, wasting a lot of would be product.
The brush is also a problem for me. Applying this illuminator is done more easily and fool proof when using your finger, so this whole brush application process is pretty darn useless in my opinion. It does not spread the product enough, and to really fill in the dark area under the eyes, you have no choice but to use your finger or the concealer is too thick and globby looking.
The Color:
I have tan skin, and this stuff really lightened my under eyes (I was given a light color though to be fair), possibly even too light for my skin type. However you do not wear this alone, you want to apply it, and then apply your foundation on top of it. This is basically how it works best, and how it floods the eye area with a more brightened awakened look, and yes, it definitely works.
Is it something I need though?
Not really.
The price is too high, and there are tons of under eye brightening cosmetics on the market for half this price that do exactly the same thing. Yes it works and all, and it will not crease under the eyes, but many other concealers for the under eye area work just the same.
Overall:
It works, well too, but you can find products that work just as well in low end shopping centers like Walmart or Target, so unless you do not mind the extra funding needed to take this one home, I'd skip it. To top it off, a lot of product goes wasted due to the tube pushing product out into the brush when not in use.
