Review of Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick, in Pink Parfait

Lately Estee Lauder has been a real disappointment when it comes to their lipstick. CoverGirl which can be purchased for half the price of Estee Lauder's lipstick offers the high end brand some major competition this summer, as this high end brand is loosing it's desire, not just due to price, but quality.

I was given a tube of Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick, in Pink Parfait, and I cannot lie, the color is beautiful. Pink Parfait is a gorgeous shimmering light colored pink that flushes the lips with pretty shimmery light reflecting color, with a nice touch of pastel like pink.

On top of darker reds or raspberry lipstick, Pink Parfait is even more beautiful, offering a gorgeous shimmery sparkle as a top coat. It does the job well when it comes to the color.

The issue I have here though, aside from the ridiculous selling price, is the last.

Texture On Lips:

Before getting into the deal killer though, let me cover the texture and feel of this one on lips. This lipstick offers a gorgeous silky moisturizing cover to the lips, which feels great and natural. The moisturizing effect does not last all too long though, but there is nothing sticky or tacky in texture left behind, so that is a major plus.

Anyhow, on to the last:

Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick, in Pink Parfait does not stay put, I applied it, fell in love with the color, and 20 minutes later looked back in a mirror to find the color completely faded out and gone. I was not smoking, I had nothing to drink, I was just going about my business as usual, and the lipstick, which is supposed to be 'long lasting' as advertised, couldn't even hold up for 20 minutes.

Overall:

There are so many cosmetic companies releasing truly long lasting, bold and beautiful colors this summer, unfortunately Estee Lauder, who charges double, sometimes triple, does not offer the same long lasting color you would get from standard lipstick.

Either they need to figure out how to create long lasting color, or they need to lower their prices down to around $2.00, because that is all this one is worth in my opinion (if that).

When it comes to Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick, in Pink Parfait, it's a real shame, because this color is really pretty, and unique to other pink lipsticks you find on the market.
