Review of the Eureka Enviro Steamer

John Ehle
After spending so much time and effort cleaning my kitchen floor the conventional broom and mop way, I decided to try and look for a good and solid alternative that could do a better job. With constant traffic in and out of the kitchen, scuff marks and ingrained dirt had become commonplace when it comes to fifteen year old linoleum.

When I typically think of steam cleaners the image of large and clunky device comes to mind. When I happened to be browsing around in my local department store I spotted several light duty steam cleaners that I thought would make a great new addition to my cleaning arsenal.

One of the particular steam cleaners I spotted was the Eureka Enviro Steamer. There were many others available on the store rack but I decided to take a closer look at this particular machine because of the good experiences I had with other Eureka branded products in the past.

Since pantry space was limited, I felt that the Eureka Enviro Steamer would work great for my household. The light weight form factor makes using the machine a breeze and the water reservoir sits on the ground for added maneuverability. The design is very simple yet effective as I discovered upon first use and I was pleased to see that my linoleum has never been cleaner.

The only complaint I have is the Eureka Enviro Steamer operates on a constant stream. There is not a steam button that you would typically find with other small steam machines which causes the user to fill up the water reservoir more often.

Despite my qualms with the Eureka Enviro Steamer not having a steam release button, it performs flawlessly none the less. The steam temperature rises to a powerful 220 degrees; tough enough to remove the most stubborn soiled areas I have encountered thus far.

The construction quality of this mighty steam cleaner is much better than the cheaper alternatives I looked at prior to purchase and the supplied floor pads are extremely durable as well. Curiously enough, the Eureka Enviro Steamer does not leave that much residual water on the floor, which is a common trait of other makes judging from reviews.

So far, I am very happy with the Eureka Enviro Steamer and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has tough time lifting dirt from their hard surfaced flooring. This little steamer has cut down considerable amount of time when it comes to cleaning my kitchen so I can spend my day doing more important things around the house.
