When I first tried the Parkay Spray, I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good! The Parkay Spray has no fat, saturated fat, or trans fat. It also has no cholesterol and no calories either. When I sprayed the butter, I noticed that texture of the butter was not too thick and not too thin, but had a nice even consistency. It also has a real butter taste. It's not exactly like butter, but it's definitely tastier and more authentic than the other fat free butters on the market that either spray too thick or taste nothing like butter.
When you spray the Parkay, one spray is not enough to cover an entire piece of toast. However, the serving size on the bottle is five sprays as a topping and five sprays is definitely sufficient. Your bread will not be completely saturated as it might be with spreadable butter, but then again, your arteries are not clogging up either.
The Parkay Spray is great to use on vegetables. The serving size on the bottle is one spray for cooking, but I think that you need at least two to give your food any kind of flavor. The Parkay Spray is also great for making grilled sandwiches too because you can spray the bread evenly before cooking and it doesn't tear the bread as stick butter does when you spread it on a piece of bread. Parkay Spray just gives the bread a nice light dusting that is perfect for grilling.
My husband only uses regular butter and I have never been able to get him to try anything low fat, let alone fat free. Lately, I notice that he is actually using the Parkay Spray when he cooks. So if a die hard butter fan will use it, then it must be good!
If you enjoy butter, but would like to try something with zero-fat or calories, then I highly recommend trying the Fat-Free Parkay Spray butter. It tastes great ,and it's healthier for you.
