Review: Fisher-Price Star Station Entertainment System

The Fisher-Price Star Station Entertainment System is a great gift for any young child who is into music. The system allows children to sing along into a microphone with their favorite music. My favorite part of the product is that it can be plugged into your TV so your child can watch themselves perform on television like a real star.

The product worked well for me as soon as I took it out of the box. It was very simple to use and I had no problem setting it up, which is great because my 3 year old did not want to wait for me. The plugs for the TV were color coded to the holes they went in. The system is bright purple, orange, and green. I cannot imagine a child over the age of 8 or so using this product as I feel like they would have outgrown it.

The microphone is wireless which allows the children to dance and move all over the place without a wire to hold them back. The microphone also has options to change the visual effects on the screen so they can make themselves wavy or looking like a kaleidoscope. The image quality isn't that great but that was expected for the price we paid. Turning lots of lights on in the room helps with the quality. The microphone quality is only okay as well.

I like that the product came with a few songs so that we had something to play with immediately. The songs are popular songs but they are sung by kids, for kids. The songs include All Star, Hey Ya, Doggy, and SK8ER BOI. You can purchase more songs separately as well and there is a wide range available.

One thing I wish was different was the battery system. The product requires 3 AAA and 6 C batteries. It has pretty good battery life but I would prefer to just plug it into an outlet instead.

This product does a great job of getting my daughter up and moving. I would much rather she play with this than sit around and play a video game.

Overall, I am pleased with this product because my daughter really enjoys it and has gotten a lot of use out of it. However, if she was a few years older I would probably spend a little more and get a higher quality product that we could all use.
