I have had other Food Club breakfast items in the past (mostly waffles) and had a mixed opinion of them. In fact, the only reason I even considered the brand this time was the price was considerably less than the other frozen pancakes I had to choose from. However, when I purchased these (along with a box of blueberry pancakes from another brand), I honestly wasn't expecting too much from them.
It turns out these were considerably better than expected.
I originally purchased these for my wife since she isn't as big of a fan of blueberry pancakes as I am and, since the kids had already eaten, I pretty much just planned on making one package of them for her. However, when my youngest saw these pancakes, she wanted one, followed by her sister and I ended up making a couple packages for all three of them.
My kids tend to be a bit picky when it comes to things like this and I figured (my oldest especially) they wouldn't care for them once they tried them. But, it turns out they loved them as much as my wife did. In fact, my oldest asked for them for breakfast the very next day.
When I had a chance to try one too, I had to admit they were pretty decent. They were obviously frozen pancakes (you can tell the difference). But, they weren't as dry as other frozen pancakes we've had and had a good flavor to them. I think this is why my daughter was so willing to eat them even when we ran out of syrup.
I still preferred the blueberry pancakes to these and didn't have more than a few bites. But, the fact the box was gone after only about two days pretty much speaks for itself. The next time I go to the store to buy frozen pancakes, I'll probably end up buying two boxes of these.
