Review of The Fourth Kind: Is If Fact or Conspiracy?

Rebecca Gore
By now many of us have probably seen the movie "The Fourth Kind" staring Milla Jovovich from Universal Pictures. And I'm sure there are a lot of us asking; just how true is this story. Well in this article you will learn about what's real of the movie and what is Hollywood fabrication. The movie itself is based in Nome, Alaska about a hypnotherapist named Dr. Abigail Tyler and the mysterious disappearances of 24 residents of Nome. The F.B.I. did investigate these disappearances starting from 1960s to 2004 and in 2006 before the investigation concluded it was believed that the deaths and disappearances were the work of a local serial killer. The F.B.I. however concluded that Alcohol had been a common factor in most of the disappearances. The movie revolves around that the missing person cases were linked to alien abduction theories. The Movie features some of the most disturbing archival footage of alien abduction of Dr Abigail Tyler's actual hypnotherapy sessions and of people who claimed to have been abducted but have no memory of said abduction unless under hypnosis. The aliens in the motion picture spoke a long lost Sumerian language. .

Now before going any further I wanted to take you readers on a journey and dive into this Sumerian Civilization a bit, and find out the facts of these people. According to Wikipedia.org Sumer was a civilization and historical region in southern Mesopotamia, Iraq. It is the earliest known civilization in the world and is known as the Cradle of Civilization. The Sumerian civilization spanned over 3000 years and began with the first settlement of Eridu in the Ubaid period (mid 6th millennium BC) through the Uruk period (4th millennium BC) and the Dynastic periods (3rd millennium BC) until the rise of Babylonia in the early 2nd millennium BC.The most important archaeological discoveries in Sumer are a large number of tablets written in Sumerian. Sumerian writing is the oldest example of writing on earth. Although pictures - that is, hieroglyphs were first used, symbols were later made to represent syllables. Triangular or wedge-shaped reeds were used to write on moist clay. This is called cuneiform. A large body of hundreds of thousands of texts in the Sumerian language has survived, such as personal or business letters, receipts, lexical lists, laws, hymns, prayers, stories, daily records, and even libraries full of clay tablets. Monumental inscriptions and texts on different objects like statues or bricks are also very common. Many texts survive in multiple copies because they were repeatedly transcribed by scribes-in-training. Sumerian continued to be the language of religion and law in Mesopotamia long after Semitic speakers had become the ruling race. The Sumerian language is generally regarded as a language isolate in linguistics because it belongs to no known language family; Akkadian, by contrast belongs to the Afro-Asiatic languages. There have been many failed attempts to connect Sumerian to other language groups. It is an agglutinative language; in other words, morphemes ("units of meaning") are added together to create words, unlike analytic languages where morphemes are purely added together to create sentences. Many experts believe the Sumerian's were the most advanced and intelligent civilization known to man. Depending what parts of the world you are in and who you ask does inspire a debate even today with many believe the Mayan Civilization was the most intelligent. But in regards to the movie itself and if there is truth to the movie or not one would ask why would aliens speak a long lost ""human"" language and not one of there own species. Leaving alien believers pondering if the aliens were in fact trying to communicate with us in these cases. There is indeed a large area for debate in this question, but I'm here to bring you what is fact of this movie after that it up to you on what you believe and disbelieve. If you would like to learn more in-depth of the Sumerian people and culture I invite you to visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumer.

Now that I have given you some insight into the Sumerian people I'd like to investigate with you a little about the FBI and there case investigation of these 24 disappearances in Nome, Alaska. The official conclusion of the FBI investigation was alcohol and a harsh winter climate. Although in nine of the cases no body was ever discovered, regarding this state and local investigators said they would continue to search for new leads, although none were ever found. Of the 24 cases, three are being left alone at the request of families, two had already been prosecuted criminally, and one was a snow machine accident, said Nome Police Chief Craig Moates. In nine of the cases, a re-examination of available evidence produced "definitive outcomes," Moates said. He said alcohol was a common factor in those cases. The FBI and local police ruled out the serial killer theory as the lack of trauma on recovered bodies and the four decades time span of the cases Now what about those nine bodies, never recovered, never seen again. Surely if it was an accident there would be evidence of such some were right? Not necessarily as Nome is a remote town in Alaska was it is very easy for one to disappear especially when alcohol would have been involved as stated in the investigation by the FBI. Dallas Massie who was a state trooper in the region and also filled in as Nome police chief said He had yet to ever hear of a theory were aliens were taking folks out of the region. So with that if one were to ask the FBI officially what there conclusion was it would be Alcohol related deaths in which cases the bodies of some of the 24 cases were never recovered.

Now I would like to bring you to the focal point of the movie and that would be Dr. Abigail Emily Tyler. She is the Dr who conducts the hypnotherapy sessions in the movie and is even seen in some of the archival footage that is shown in the movie. If you search for Dr. Abigail Tyler, Nome Alaska, a website called "Alaska Psychiatry Journal" provides a "biography" of Dr. Tyler with "related articles" on the topics of sleep disorders, emotional issues, and hypnotherapy and regression therapy. However, the website does not have a homepage or contact information. . The website was registered on GoDaddy.com in August 2009. A real online-medical publication would have such information, so this leads to the conclusion that the website is a viral marketing ploy. . Now this is not uncommon for movies to do "2012" did so although they only wanted to express the opinions of what many believe predicts the end of the world on the Mayan calendar. You may remember the first "Blair Witch" movie were it also tried to pass off through the internet that its events were actual events and footage and was found out otherwise that it was a hoax movie. Now this doesn't rule out that Dr Abigail Tyler isn't a real Dr. at all. Now if you search the name Abigail Emily Tyler you will find no credentials of such Dr, Education, or Records of a person by that name. which recently I have heard the theory that the government could make that all go away and cover the issue up , offer town folk a little side cash to keep quiet and, viola cover-up in place. If you watch the movie even the man interviewing the supposed real Abigail Tyler he is not actually a Dr of any sorts or media he is actually the films director Olatunde Osunsanmi; the person I spoke to at Chapman University however wishes to not be named in this article.

No matter what your position is on alien abduction or the movie itself facts of this story do not add up, whether you look for Abigail Tyler her self or by searching those missing people's cases. No matter what you choose to believe on this matter one thing rings clear "Hollywood has done it again"" whether fabricating up a missing person case that spans over four decades into alien abductions or maybe bringing to light something the government wants quiet, we will probably never know. In my own opinion, I would say enjoy the show, and let your imagination wonder.

I guess I got punked! I totally fell for it and I loved every second of it! But I still have to say that it is very possible that something beyond explanation and of e.t. origin did occur in Nome and very likely happens elsewhere more often than we might think.
Perhaps a bit of government induced cover up? Then at the request if our government Hollywood was prompted to kick up the disinformation? Hmmm...

First of all Sean and TGR you guys are dumbasses. If you ACTUALLY watched the movie, it explains how Dr. Abigail Tyler was an Alias. People like you is exactly why they didnt give a real name. Also if you think humans is the only type of life form in this galaxy your a dumbass.

Dr. Abigail Tyler was an alias name given her in the movie. I was very perplexed after seeing the movie and believe there actually was something paranormal that happened. We are miracles to be on this planet, who's to say we are the only ones in the universe? Maybe we are but babies in a universe that we know so little of.

the fourth kind was just a movie people, anyone who believes it was real is very gullible. the so called real Dr Tyler in the movie being interviewed is an actress and like i seen in a previous comment I did Google,Bing, and search every way for a Dr Abigail Tyler and there are a few, but none of them are Doctors or ever been Doctors or hypnotherapist or anything like the one portrayed in this film but like this article says its a good show and very entertaining

  • Sean3/28/2010

Actually the events of this movie are false, Your report is actually very accurate...all this was based around missing persons case and there was no Doctor Abigail Tyler ever in or residing in Nome Alaska. I have done very in depth research on this and have plenty of documents to back it up....Becca the author of this article you did a wonderful job very accurate loved the article but this movie was Hollywood fabrication.
