The Product
I purchased a 12 fluid ounce bottle of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with natural colloidal oatmeal. The advertising on the bottle claimed it " Relieves and Protects Dry Skin." and that it, "Moisturizes for 24 Hours." It is fragrance free and on the bottle it reads, "Dermatologist Recommended." It also comes with a convenient pump applicator. I decided to give Aveeno a try.
Active Ingredient
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Oatmeal contains 1.25% of the active ingredient Dimethicone. Dimethicone is a silicone often used in lotions to make skin feel silky smooth.
How I used it
I decided to keep the bottle on my kitchen counter, so I could use it after doing dishes and house chores. I absolutely love that it has a hand pump. It makes it very convenient to use.
My Experience
After the first application my hands felt instantly nourished. The thicker lotion absorbed quickly into my skin and was pleasantly non greasy. I have tried other lotions and found that they burn when applied to very dry and chapped skin. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Oatmeal, did not burn at all. It actually felt very soothing. My skin was not only soothed and moisturized, but felt silky smooth. I agree with the claim that it is fragrance free. I noticed no scent when I applied it. I really like that fact, because I love to use fragrant body lotions and do not like any other scents interfering. I also have a two year old daughter who has extremely sensitive skin. She has been using this Aveeno lotion and I found it to be very gentle on her skin. She has experienced no breakouts, burning or rashes. I love the fact that I can use it on her and not worry about any adverse effects.
Recommendation
I am a total fan of the fragrance free Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with Oatmeal. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a soothing lotion for dry chapped skin. I also found it to be a great product for people with sensitive skin. It works well with those who use fragrant lotions too. It does not interfere with the smell of your other lotions. I recommend the pump too. It makes it easy and convenient to use. Just sit it on your counter and use it when ever you need it.
I did use the entire bottle and have replaced it with a new one. The Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with Oatmeal will be a staple in our home. I will use it as long as Johnson and Johnson continues to offer it.
If you are interested in purchasing a bottle for yourself it can be found at almost any local drug store, or on-line at Walgreens via the link below. The current retail price is $8.49.

Post a CommentPersonally, I love the Made from Earth Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer.
I've been using the product for over 6 months now and I can't imagine going back to my old moisturizer or even trying something new. I've had especially problematic skin, but when I started using this product, I began receiving a lot of compliments on my skin. I feel like it moisturizes really well and when I wake up the next morning my skin still feels really soft and moisturized.
I'd agree thati love that it is a fragrence-free moisturizer. You can find trial size containers of this product on their website (www.madefromearth.com) to if you're interested in trying it out without making a big investment in the product. The regular moisturizer is $70 but it last 6 months so it is soo worth it - plus when people tell you your skin looks great, for me that is worth $10 a month!
But if you want to try it first, the trial size prices are low - so I highly recommend them.
