Review of Frankenstein Girls Seem Strangely Sexy by Mindless Self Indulgence

A couple of years ago I found myself bored by the inanity of what passed for music at the time and so found myself looking for something different. It didn't have to be Rock/Rap/Soul/Indie.....just something different, any style. Well my friends let me tell you that I found it in this wondrous power packed record. The Album title alone grabbed my interest & so i gave it a listen. 'Dicks are for my friends' is one of the funniest, catchiest sing-along songs I've heard in the last 10 years. The whole album is full of subversive, nasty little lyrical snide-remarks & expletives which make no apologies to the listener. So you either go with it or not. I don't see any half-ways here.

For me I find the whole album a refreshing blast of hot-air, bursting with the sort of attitude Punk pretended to have back in 77'. I cannot categorize their sound either. Let's see 'Jungle/Rap/Rock/Techno' - Ahhhh who cares. I'm 45 years old and I suppose I'm too lame to be listening to stuff like this but for me it's a drop of fresh air in amongst the dross that's out there right now. So check it out. Listen to some sound samples. The songs themselves probably aren't much longer than the sound samples. Short, sharp & fun. Check it out.
