Taste
The variety pack of frozen soda pop freezer bars included the name brand soda flavors of Dr. Pepper, Orange Crush, A&W Root Beer, and 7-UP. Each type of soda flavor was sampled and they all tasted just like the real thing minus the carbonation. The family favorite happened to be the 7-UP and A&W Root Beer flavors. Our youngest child was a big fan of the Orange Crush flavor. These cold refreshing snacks are the absolute cure for mid afternoon sweet cravings when working out in the yard or when the kids want a snack to cool them down. The most difficult part of slurping down these delicious treats is having enough in stock.
Quantity
There are two different portion sizes of the freeze and squeeze soda pops. The box we opted for came in two ounce portions sold in a thirty two count box. There are some retailers that will sell smaller portions in a twelve count size. These items go very quickly in the household or office so the larger size portion size is strongly recommended.
Price
The big box of freeze and squeeze soda pop freezer bars cost only $3.99 at our local ALDI. At about twelve cents a pop, that price is pretty tough to beat for just about any frozen dessert. I have noticed that the twelve pack portions can be found at other locations but at a high price of $3.49 which equates to a higher unit cost of thirty cents a pop. One good attribute to the smaller size boxes are the ability to pick an entire box of one particular soda flavor which can be nice for those that do not like some of the other flavors sold in the variety pack.
Locations
Finding a retailer that sells the Freeze and Eat Soda Pops can be tricky. It was by luck we discovered this item when browsing the ALDI juice aisle. The retailer carried only the thirty two ounce box, but there are other retailers that sell this product. Other locations that may sell Freeze and eat soda pops include CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, and Jewel. One can also browse the dollar stores as many of these discounters will sell this item.
My only complaint with the Freeze and Squeeze Soda Bar variety pack is the absence of cola. Being a big fan of an occasional frozen Coke, I think the manufacturer missed the boat on appeasing a lot more people by not carrying this popular soft drink flavor. Nevertheless, the overall impression of freeze and eat soda pops is that they will be a standby treat in my freezer this summer and for many more to come.
