Review: Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex

Convenient, but Has Construction Flaws

Arthur Kirk
The Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex is a game that is a version of the popular washer toss games on the market for outdoor use. This version by Fundex is very convenient for transportation and fun to play. The ease of transportation makes a few design flaws easier to overlook. It is still a little bit of a shock that Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex has these design flaws. In general Fundex is known as an outdoor and lawn game maker that designs games that have good quality parts and are reliably constructed.

Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex is played just like many other washer toss games. The goal is to toss a plastic coated washer into a round piece of pvc tubing. The tubing is surrounded by four wooden walls forming a box. If your washer lands in the tubing you receive either two or three points based on the rules you choose to play by. If you get the washer within the box but not in the tube it scores one point. These rules allow for various home rule variations including the distance between the boxes.

Fundex Bulls-Eye washers comes with two playing boxes to play a game of washer toss. Each of these boxes appear to be well constructed square boxes with a target in the middle constructed of a small piece of pvc tubing. Unfortunately while playing a game using Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex, I found that the pieces sometimes come apart. The first flaw I discovered was that the pvc tubing came apart from the wooden base of the box when playing Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex. This was easily repaired with screws, but was not something I intended on having to fix with a Fundex product. The other issue was that the base underneath the wooden walls of the box came apart from the walls. Once again this is something you can repair easily.

The issue though is you are paying for a constructed version of Washer Toss, at least that is what you should expect with Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex. In reality you find that you need to make some adjustments to make the boxes secure for repetitive play. My suggestion would be to attach the tubing and base with screws when you first purchase the Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex game. This way your game will be set up well before you start playing and you won't have the game of washer toss interrupted by the construction flaws.

A great feature of the Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers by Fundex is that the boxes attach to each other to form a case, and you can put your washers inside of the case. That means you have a very portable little box with a handle on it to transport your Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers game.

  • You should secure the pieces before playing to the box with screws.
  • This is dissapointing to find a Fundex product that has design flaws in terms of asembly.
  • The washer toss game is very similar to many other versions of washer toss games.
The wooden boxes once secured with a few screws, and the portability of the game as one unit sets the Fundex Bulls-Eye Washers By Fundex apart from other washer toss games.
