Review of the Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot, Orlando, Florida

The Garden Grill restaurant is located in the "Land" building at Epcot. The Garden Grill is a character meal and is available for lunch and dinner. The price for lunch is $20.99 for adults and $11.99 for children ages 3-9. Pricing for dinner is a tad more for adults $27.99 and children's meals only increase by $1.00. The menu is almost the same for either meal except at dinner you're given a salad. (If you're looking to spend time with the characters go at lunch since it is cheaper.) The meal is served at your table family style and consists of items like turkey, catfish, flank steak and vegetables. Children are brought out chicken strips, French fries, and macaroni and cheese. (Children are more than welcome to eat off of the other dishes and adults are welcomed to ask for the children's offerings.) A beverage and dessert is also included in the price of your meal. Since we had a group of more than six people an 18% gratuity was also included on each family's receipt. (Disney's new policy this year.)

Characters at the meal were Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. Keep in mind that characters are always subject to change but these are the ones to be expected while dining at this particular restaurant.

Since we were dining with such a large group (14) we were assigned a 4:40 pm reservation for dinner. (I don't know about you, but it's a little early for me to eat supper.) The only way for them to seat us all together though was accepting the early reservation.

While The Garden Grill was a fun place to eat, the service was excellent and the food plentiful my husband and I felt that the food was just sub-par. Example - I was really looking forward to the fried catfish but what was served were more like catfish tenders that were heavily peppered. I don't believe everyone in our group felt the way we did though. The rest of the family enjoyed the meal and had no complaints. My favorite item here was the tossed salad. I do have to say that my opinion of the food here may be a little skewed because of all the other restaurants that we dined at while on vacation.

The most interesting thing about this restaurant is that while you dine, the restaurant is actually rotating and you can see scenes from the "Living With the Land" attraction.
