I refer to her as a she, because the voice is so obviously female.
The first thing that I did was go on a trip, to find this pasta restaurant that I had not been to in ages. It was 57.7 Miles away, but that didn't matter because I knew where I was going. On our way, she provided me with many detours to avoid. I love the fact that the satellite realizes where you are and finds locations such as food, fuel or attractions and sorts them by distance.
I drive to places that I don't know every single day, so of course I used it. It enabled me to know where I was going, all of the time - and told me the quickest way to get there.
Implemented with a touch screen, ease of use is quite simple.
The only, and I mean only downside, is that some of the road updates aren't there and it confuses her while you drive on them. She persistently speaks, "recalculating, recalculating" while you turn down the volume because you know where exactly it is that you are. Sometimes while I am at home, parked in the driveway it cannot read the satellite, and I have to back up 10 feet or so - but this is only because I am blocked by my house, I believe.
It came with a user friendly installation disc, and with a large memory card enabled me to load North America in full into the system. I am ready to take the largest road trip... ever!
It enables me to inform my friends that I will arrive at precisely 8:34, to the minute. It gives you the arrival time and trip information if you would like as well. It enables you to see how fast you are going and even comes in a variety of languages. To switch it up every once in a while I use her in the language of "British English" she sounds like the perfect flight attendant. Always wanting to get me where I am going in one piece.
At the price of $379.99 it was a great investment. As I use It Daily, It's Almost like I am paying a little over a dollar a day. I look at it as saving on power, and internet by using map quest - and of course, that hard earned money spent on maps every single year.
