Review: Garnier Fructise Dual-Action Nutrient Spray

It has been said that judging something by the way that it looks is wrong, and we have been told from childhood not to do it. Unfortunately, I seem to be a slow learner.

The Garnier Fructise Nutrient spray caught my eye in the aisle of hair products immediately: it comes in a neat little clear bottle with the contents separated into 3 layers. It begs to be shaken, and so I pick it up and do just that. After that lust is taken care of, I decide to see what the product promises to do - nourish and shine, for dry, damaged hair. It includes oils from olive, avocado and shea, all of which I hold as very good products and love to include in my beauty regimens. The small bottle only cost me about $5.00 USD at my local Wal-Mart and so it came home with me.

One of the nice things about this product is definitely the scent. Before something goes in my hair, I have to know what it smells like. This has a very nice fruity scent that reminds me a little of a cross between a pineapple and a pear.

So, the smell was fresh - so far, so good. But I was most interested in, was how its performance stood up to Garnier's promises. Upon my first useage I must say that I was not impressed. Sure, it made my hair smell nice and a light spritz made my hair look shiny, but it still felt dry. So much for nourishing, I thought. I decided that perhaps using a bit more of the product might help with the dryness and so pumped a few more spritzes throughout my hair. Big mistake. Not only did it not make my hair any shinier than it had been after the initial pump, but my hair still felt dry and to top it off, now it physically felt disgusting to the touch - stiff, heavy and greasy, the same way that my hair feels after applying hairspray. I felt like I wanted to wash it out as fast as I could. Over the next several days I used sparingly here and there, trying to find a happy medium between too little and too much; a balanced amount where perhaps it would perform as intended. However, the results never changed.

After my experience with the Garnier Fructise Dual-Action Nutrient Spray, I have to say that I would not recommended it, nor will I be buying it again. At this point, we're just trying to use the bottle so that it does not go to waste getting thrown in the garbage. This product definitely helped me learn not to judge anything by its appearance; even though it looks cool, the Garnier Fructise Dual-Action Nutrient Spray is not worth your money or consideration.
