When we walked into the restaurant, I was shocked by how packed it was. Although the place is not that big, there were people everywhere. It took several minutes to get a table. The décor of the restaurant is simple and there are tables to sit at, no booths.
The menu featured an assortment of Italian dishes. There were several different salads, calzones, oven roasted sandwiches, and pizzas. In addition, Genesis offers patrons almost 20 different pasta and Italian specialties like Chicken Marsala and Baked Ziti. To finish your meal, there are 8 scrumptious desserts including Tiramisu and Cannoli.
Our waiter was extremely attentive. Although I only ordered the House Salad, he mentioned that if I wanted to add anything to it he would be more than happy to accommodate my request. I asked for mushrooms and onions and he pleasantly brought those to the table. He even went out of his way to tell me that I could also have carrots and broccoli added. I agreed and he quickly brought these vegetables back to me.
My mother had the Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was breaded and topped with sauce and cheese on a bed of green peppers and onions. She had a choice of pasta or potatoes with her dish and since she did not want spaghetti, she choice the potatoes. She enjoyed the dish very much, complimenting the taste several times while she ate. I took a few of her potato wedges and I must say that they were quite good.
My favorite thing about this restaurant? The bread! The waiter served us a loaf as soon as we sat down and it was one of the best sour dough breads that I have ever tasted. The loaf was soft and warm when it was brought to the table. The table also came prepared with a small dish filled with olive oil and pepper to dip the bread into.
The prices at the restaurant are comparable to other small Italian restaurants that I have been to, so I would say that our bill was reasonable. The entire experience was very pleasant, and I would recommend the Genesis Italian Grille to others in the area looking for a nice dinner. The Genesis Italian Grille is open for lunch and dinner Monday-Thursday 10:30-8:30 and Friday-Saturday 10:30-9.
