Review: Giant Food's Nature's Promise Brand of Organic and Natural Foods

Katie
Giant food stores is my favorite grocery store not only because it is well stocked and clean, it also carries a store-brand line of organic and all natural products that are fresh and delicious as well as significantly less expensive than brand name organic products. The store manufactures its own organic foods under the name Nature's Promise, and I promise you, everything is delicious.

Because it is a store brand, the cost is reduced but in this case, the quality is still top-notch. I am very name-brand loyal but after my first try of Nature's Promise, I was hooked and I think very differently about store brand products now. Eating organic can be quite expensive, but by purchasing a store brand you save on cost by eliminating the middle man.

I've found that both meats and produce are the most expensive organic buys but Nature's Promise makes it possible to eat well without upping your food bill. Nature's Promise's carries meats and poultry that is unbeatable in value for your dollar. The chicken is amazing, there is hardly any fat on it and it cooks up beautifully as organic chicken often does. It's free of antibiotics and hormones to boot! Te beef comes from grass fed cows and again, it's very lean and tasty. Nature's Promise even manufactures organic bacon!

As far as produce is concerned, you can find fresh lettuce and carrots under the store brand name, as well as various organic nuts and dried fruits. If you're looking for organic dairy products, Nature's Promise can meet all of your family's needs with it's organic milk and eggs, as well as cheeses.

Staples in every home, such as bread, jelly, peanut butter and pasta as well as pasta sauce manufactured by Nature's Promise are all delicious and all natural. Snack foods, such as tortilla chips and salsa, even chocolate chip cookies made by Nature's Promise are amazing. They even sell condiments such as ketchup and salad dressing, and again the quality cannot be beat.

When I'm scanning the shelves at the grocery store, I'm always on the lookout for a Nature's Promise substitute for my favorite brand name products. I never hesitate if I can find an organic replacement for my favorite foods and Nature's Promise makes this possible and affordable for my family. If you shop at Giant food stores, be sure to pick up a few Nature's Promise products as an alternative to your favorite foods, you will be enormously pleased with both the quality and the taste as well as the price.

Thank you so much for this review. I am also a "Nature's Promise" food lover. With all the controversy about food it is good to know I am making the right food choices. I started buying some Purdue chicken thinking and hearing that the food was grass fed and found out it was not. That was very disappointing. Basically they are lying to the public and getting away with it. Nature's promise"s prices are great also. Thank you once again for your honesty.

I shop at Stop & Shop supermarket, and I do buy Nature's Promise 1% fat milk or skim milk, and had never gotten a bad container. I have also noticed that it keeps a longer life than milk with antibiotics added, and frankly, I never had any of this milk ever go bad in my refrigerator.
Once, I had bought a Nature's Promise Organic Chicken Roast, and after my wife had cooked it, we both had gotten an upset stomach, and it wasn't all what it was cracked up to be.
It was horrible! I'll stick to Perdue on that one, until I find another alternative?
I had also tried Nature's Promise Hor's Derve, and they were delicious! They have a numerous variety of those floating around te frozen food section! The Nature's Promise frozen vegetables are very good, like their Corn, Asparagus, Spinach, and a few others that I have tried. I have found that some of the Natures Promise products are great, yet some, not good at all. The other day, looked over their Frankfurters, and didn't like the way they looked. They were discolored, and were not very appealing! I wouldn't trust buying their meats, and poultry, since I've already had a bad experience with their chicken, and the look of their frankfurters I say to all, be very discerning of what you buy and consume!

I would not let this reviewer feed my dog. Learn what "natural" means in the food industry before you come back, and also Nature's Promise is NOT all organic. You are doing more harm than good.

Nature's Promise grape tomatoes are frequently over ripe, wrinkly and awful. Lady Moon Farms' produce is much better and fresh every time.

How can you claim to eliminate the middleman when you purchase from the middleman?

I bought the nature promise Italian organic salad dressing and it taste ok the only problem is how its packeged. Right now the liquid dressing comes pouring out of the opeb top so its hard to not drown your salad in dressing.

I find Natures Promise products to be inferior to other organic brands owned by individual companies who make additional effort to ensure quality, such as Eden, Amy's and Mary's Gone Crackers. I really don't trust this brand--have found a metal part in a head of broccoli, have purchased a bag of their organic apples, to find them half t rotted, and overall find their produce far from fresh. I found this site because I was attempting to find out if the sugar they use in their unsulfured ginger slices is genetically modified beet sugar or not, as cane is not specified--nor is this product certified organic. Still have not found my answer, but have read many of the above comments and have some answers/resources for you.

Just bought Nature's Promise "Organic Salsa". It was more organic than I expected, as I found a hair in it! Tried to find out who actually produces this crap and can't find any contact info. They obviously aren't wearing hairnets so I can only imagine what the plant looks like. Will definately not be buyiny any of these products again!

Wake up and smell the coffee. Giant and Stop and Shop are selling 'Natures Promise' to boost their profits. It is not organic, or free range. It is just a phony, confusing label aimed at profits. The only chicken to buy is free range chicken. 'Natures Promise' is the same old battery caged chickens. They are stressed out to the max and pass on bad carconogenic hormones.
