Review: Gilmour Wheeled Garden Sprayer

The Wheels Do All the Work...Never Pump a Garden Sprayer Again!

Fern Fischer
The Gilmour wheeled garden sprayer is a new concept in garden sprayers.

The tank is mounted on a wheeled base which you roll along with you when you spray. The wheel rotation pressurizes the spray tank as you walk. There is no pumping. If the pressure begins to fall, simply roll the sprayer back and forth a few times to repressurize.

This sprayer has a long handle that makes moving it easy for anyone. Simply tilt and roll. The wheeled base carries the weight so you don't have to. No more lugging heavy tanks or carrying heavy, unwieldy backpack sprayers.

The spray hose is 72 inches long for an extended reach. The polymer nozzle adjusts from a stream to a very fine mist. The flexible wand rotates for tangle-free spraying, and it has a comfort-grip discharger that is easy on your hand, especially if you have arthritis. The wand disassembles easily for cleaning. Store the wand by slipping it inside the storage slot in the handle. To release the pressure in the tank when you finish spraying, return the wand to its storage position and press the spray release. Any liquid/chemical from the wand safely drains directly back into the tank as it depressurizes.

To fill the sprayer, remove the entire handle. The hose and wand are part of the handle assembly. An easy turn swivel ring holds the handle on. The tank has an extra large fill opening that is over four inches in diameter, so pouring concentrates and filling the tank are easy and fast. The large tank opening makes cleaning the tank trouble-free, too.

A pressure relief valve is built in for safety. The tank is translucent so you can check the level of liquid at a glance. If you need them, replacement parts are readily available at stores and online.

The Gilmour Wheeled Sprayer comes completely assembled. It is available in two sizes, two gallon or four gallon. Both models are identical except for the tank size.

Internet was basically out all evening :( It's still odd - I think it's all the rain this area has been getting. I was trying to do more relevant comments, but now that it's so late, I'm sicking with copy and paste - maybe one of these days everything will cooperate.

This sounds like a fantastic tool to use on our farm, instead of having to lug a 20# sprayer on our back. Thanks for pointing this out.
