Review of Glaceau's Vitamin Water in 'Sync Berry-Cherry'

The Pen
I haven't had a bottle of Glaceau Vitamin Water in over a year, but a few days ago I was out and about when I became really thirsty. I went into a store to buy a bottle of plain water, but then I wanted something more flavorful so I looked at the selection of Vitamin Water the grocery store I was in carried.

There was a flavor I'd never tried before called Sync, so I picked it up and read that it had a berry cherry flavor. It seemed like it'd be good so I bought a bottle for $1.69.

The Glaceau website states that the Berry Cherry Sync delivers "100% DV of 4 important B vitamins and vitamin C, along with a mix of fruit and berry extracts rich in polyphenols."

The label explains that this Vitamin Water is named Sync because today we can download our music collections and now Sync allows you to download daily vitamins and antioxidants.

Sync contains reverse osmosis water, cane sugar, crystalline fructose, natural flavor, citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), fruit and vegetable juice (color), berry and fruit extract (blueberry and apple).

And the Berry Cherry water also contains magnesium lactate (electrolyte), gum arabic, niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), ester gum, vitamin E acetate, monopotassium phosphate (electrolyte), calcium lactate (electrolyte), pyridoxine hydrochloride (B6), and cyanocobalamin (B12).

An 8oz glass of Sync Vitamin Water contains 50 calories, 13g of total carbohydrates, and 13g of sugar. A whole bottle offers a 25% DV of vitamin E and a 100% DV of vitamins C, B3, B6, B12, and B5.

The vitamins and electrolytes and polyphenols really didn't matter to me at all. At that time I just wanted this Berry Cherry water to taste good. When I took a sip I found that Glaceau's Sync tasted really sweet. And then I could make out the berry flavors.

The Sync Vitamin Water had the flavors of blueberries, cherries and it also tasted a little like grapes to me too. The flavors in Sync weren't super strong like they would be in juice but it tasted more like the essence of the berries were infused in this water.

In the End...

I really liked the taste of Sync Berry Cherry Vitamin Water. It quenched my thirst like water but it was still sweet and flavorful and it didn't have a nasty artificial aftertaste like a lot of flavored waters do. I enjoyed it and I'll be buying a few more bottles to have a light refreshing drink when the weather warms up. 4 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for the wonderful read. Flavored water is definitely a more healthy option than soda or other syrupy drinks! Some other tips for improving your hydration include:
    * Eat foods with high water content. Slice them and take them to work. Serve them with meals. Good choices include apples, watermelon, celery, tomatoes, lettuce, oranges and melons.
    * Drink what you enjoy, as long as the sugar and caloric intake is low. Look for 10-20 calories per serving, and definitely don't make it your only beverage consumption. Make sure you get dairy in, too.
    * At restaurants, choose water instead of other beverages. An added bonus to doing this if you have children is that you'll be serving as a role model for making healthy choices.
    All the best!

I like almost every flavor of Vitamin Water I've tried. They're never TOO sweet like Gatorade or Powerade. Nice review :)
