Review of Glade Limited Edition, Sparkle of Spring Scented Oil Candle

Melanie Dee
A few years ago Glade was slipping in the popularity rankings, and frankly I figured in due time, if they did not amp up their collections, and add a new modern twist to their fragrances they would soon be yet another distinct household name.

Glade however really perked up their collections by perhaps following the trends that Febreze initially was giving out; that new, fresh, must have look and feel. Glade began to take off, and no longer was their look boring, old or stagnant. Thankfully they have been keeping up with the competition, and I am glad this classical flavor charged up their look and began supplying shelves with new, and limited edition must have products; from candles, tea lights, and of course home fragrance sprays.

Today I managed to scoop up 2 of their newest releases. Unfortunately for us though, these spring scents are limited edition, which means they will not be around long.

Up on the chopping block today is their scented oil candle, in an interesting fragrance they labeled Sparkle of Spring.

The candle itself is a lime green, which laves you wondering what it will smell like. Grass, florals, or lime. Taking a closer look at the neat 70s like retro artwork on the label, you notice that there are limes drawn onto it, giving you the more obvious note in which to expect.

I popped off the plastic top and took a whiff. Sure enough, I smelled a beautiful lime fragrance, but not just some ordinary lime scent, Sparkle in Spring smells like a Mojito, with a nice salty blend to it, and a very subtle tint of coconut. It's beachy, tropical, and delicious.

The only thing I could hope was that after spending $2.99 on the candle, was that it smelled as good burning, as it did when unlit. I knew if this fragrance was powerful, it would leave my home smelling like one of my favorite tropical retreats in the Caribbean.

I personally would call Sparkle of Spring a summer scent, than I would a spring one, but hey, whatever it smelled divine, and that was all that matters.

My Use:

I lit the wick and let the candle be in my bedroom. Upon returning 20 minutes later I was enveloped in a tropical paradise type scent, with glorious warm notes of lime, vanilla, coconut, and cream. The scent is lovely, and when lit, it answered my concerns on whether or not the scent would be as good lit, as it would unlit. I was more than impressed.

Overall:

Forget about invoking the scents of spring in your home, Glade Sparkle of Spring evokes the powers of a tropical tidal wave of heavenly beachy fragrance, one in which I believe everyone will enjoy.
