Gorton's Lemon Pepper fish comes in a 6-pack, 3-serving carton weighing 11 ounces and available in your grocer's frozen section for around $3 to $4.
Preparation
Cooking Gorton's Lemon Pepper fish is really simple. While Gorton's does not recommend cooking the lemon pepper fish in a microwave, conventional oven baking is the preferred method and is quick and easy, too.
After preheating your conventional oven to 425 degrees, place your six lemon pepper fish fillets on a cookie sheet or metal baking pan. Place the baking pan in your oven for 17 to 19 minutes. Be sure you turn over your fish fillets after the first 10 minutes of cooking. Your lemon pepper fish fillets will be ready to eat after the battered coating achieves a golden brown color.
Flavor
If you're a fan of seasoned fish, you'll enjoy Gorton's Lemon Pepper fish. The lemon pepper seasoning is mild, so you won't be puckering at the lips because the lemon is too sour!
The quality of the Pollock fish is good. The fish fillets are white, and I saw no gray areas in my fish fillets. The battered coating is not too thick - maybe about a 1/16th of an inch thick; you definitely won't feel like you're eating fish sticks, which sometimes seem like they are more breading than fish.
Overall, the flavor and quality of Gorton's Lemon Pepper fish is quite good and is a product you'll feel confident about when feeding these fish fillets to your family and friends.
