My fiancée and I recently spent the night in the Grandview Lodge which is located at 466 Lickstone Road, Waynesville NC 289786. You can see the Grandview Lodge Web site with this link. To phone this western North Carolina bed and breakfast, call 800-730-7923 or 828-456-5212.
In my review of the Grandview Lodge in Waynesville North Carolina, I only have one small complaint. The bathroom in our room was a little cramped and only had a shower and not a bathtub. However there are nine rooms to choose from in addition to a mountain cottage.
I really like the fact that the owners of Grandview Lodge are locals to Haywood County. A guest named David from Raleigh North Carolina (around 280 miles from Waynesville) told me he is a frequent guest at the bed and breakfast and that the Ferguson's had improved it since they took it over. My fiancée and I had a good time talking to David, his wife and "Annie" a little fluff of hair that seemed to be a dog of some sort.
That is another good thing we found in our review of the Grandview Lodge in Waynesville. The lodge has a pet friendly room and "Annie" seemed to enjoy her walk in the sunshine outside. Each room also has a historical theme which I enjoyed. The "Ferguson" room is actually dedicated to the family of innkeeper, Terry Ferguson and has old photos of his family.
Terry Ferguson also told me that he enjoys giving back to the Haywood County community. What food that the Inn does not produce in their own garden, is bought from local farmers if it is something produced in the area.
The Grandview Lodge offers fine dining and even local non guests are apt to show up for Sunday Brunch. Nancy Ferguson is not only one of the owners of the B&B but is also the chief. My fiancée told me that the Quiche was there at the lodge was the best she has ever had. The lodge will also go out their way to cater to a special diet with some advance warning, if possible.
The best thing about our stay at the Grandview Lodge in Waynesville North Carolina was the price. We found the price to be comparable with area motels and well below other area B&B's. Check their Web site for pricing as that is seasonal.
We were at the Grandview on Easter Weekend of 2010 and have already made reservations to return in June of the same year. I give the Grandview Lodge a good review and recommend them for people staying in the Waynesville Maggie Valley region of North Carolina.
