Review: Green Giant Digestive Health Mixed Vegetables
Green Giant Digestive Health Mixed Vegetables Offer Dietary Fiber
The grouping of sliced yellow carrots, white navy beans, chopped spinach, a garlic herb sauce, and the often-hard-to-obtain dietary fiber are a sure bet for a colorful plate and a healthy meal. I have enjoyed nearly all of Green Giant's products.
Preparation
First off, cooking the Green Giant Digestive Health vegetable mix is absolutely a piece of cake. The plastic pouch doesn't need to even be cut before placing it in a microwave for about 3-1/2 minutes on high. After the cooking is done, take the Green Giant Digestive Health vegetable pouch out of the microwave, open it up, and pour the vegetables onto a plate.
*NOTE: Green Giant Digestive Health vegetables are not designed to be cooked in a conventional oven or in boiling water.
Flavor
I enjoyed the flavor of the Green Giant Digestive Health vegetable mix enough to get it again. However, I think Green Giant should have added a little more garlic herb sauce.
There is enough sauce to keep the vegetables wet, but the overall bland flavor of the navy beans - which seem to dominate the bulk, texture, and taste of the Green Giant Digestive Health vegetable mix - is just a little too flat. Plus, I think the texture of the navy beans is a bit too mealy for me. Overall, this Digestive Health product is good, and it's certainly a high-quality dish. I just was hoping for a little more flavor.
Nutrition
The flavor may be a little too beany for my tastes, but the nutritional benefits of eating the Green Giant Digestive Health vegetable mix are very appealing. Namely, you can get 5 grams of dietary fiber in just one 1/2-cup serving! That's 21% of a typical person's daily requirement. Also, there are just 14 grams of carbohydrates in the Green Giant Digestive Health mix. Here's a look at the rest of the nutritional panel:
