Review: Green Giant Immunity Blend Mixed Vegetables

I'm doing my best to keep healthy, but because my days are busy with work, school, and life, I find myself more often than not looking for healthy frozen meals and frozen snacks I can zap in the microwave or cook in the oven. Thankfully, more convenient but healthy food products are available now than ever before, and Green Giant Immunity Blend mixed vegetables is one of those frozen food products which offers a good healthy mixture of vegetables which also provides antioxidants that will help keep my body healthy and strong.

Green Giant Immunity Blend mixed vegetables comes in a microwavable pouch that will have you eating less than 5 minutes after opening the Immunity Blend box. Green Giant Immunity Blend brings together broccoli florets, Julienne carrots, red bell peppers, and yellow peppers bathed in an extra-virgin olive oil sauce brimming with the flavors garlic and herbs.

Preparation

Making Green Giant Immunity Blend mixed vegetables is really simple. There's no cutting of any bags involved, no mid-way turning or rotating of the pouch while cooking in the microwave oven, and the vegetable pouch is already cut and perforated for easy opening after the vegetables have been cooked.

Simply place the pouch in your microwave oven for 3 to 4-1/2 minutes. When this is done, open the pouch up and empty the Immunity Blend mixed vegetables into a serving bowl or dish.

I like my vegetables cooked thoroughly, so I wound up cooking them for the 4-minute time.

*Note: Green Giant Immunity Blend is not designed for cooking in a conventional oven. The Immunity Blend package also states that the pouch should NOT be placed in boiling water.

Flavor

When I first bought Green Giant Immunity Blend at my grocer, I was a little concerned that the flavor of the mixed vegetables would either be too "peppery" or too dry. What caught my eye about this pack of Green Giant mixed vegetables is that it is served with the extra virgin olive oil seasoning sauce. Still though, would that be enough to overcome the potentially dry texture of the Immunity Blend vegetables?

Yes, the sauce was great! In fact, I would say the sauce helped make the Immunity Blend a "sell" for me. For those worried about the garlic flavor being dominant in the overall taste of the Green Giant immunity blend, don't fret... the garlic flavor, as well as the herbs, simply enhances the extra virgin olive oil flavor and they do not at all overpower this meal. The flavor of the vegetables reigns in this Green Giant product.

The pouch cooking system also allows the vegetables to cook, rather than boil, in the extra-virgin olive oil sauce. That means you'll wind up with nice, firm vegetables and not sloppy, mushy vegetables which are so often the victim of boiling.

If you're like me, you'll find that easy-to-make, tasty products like the Green Giant Immunity Blend actually make me want to eat MORE vegetables! That's not a light claim, because vegetables often are just too difficult to make time for to cook, and they don't always satisfy some people's taste buds.
