Preparation
Green Giant Spinach in Butter Sauce can be made in either your microwave or on the stove top.
Microwave
After cutting a small slit in the plastic, place the pouch into your microwave and set on HIGH for 2 minutes. After the first 2 minutes of cooking, turn the pouch a quarter turn and then continue cooking your Green Giant Spinach for another 3 to 5 minutes on HIGH, making sure there are no cold areas of spinach remaining after cooking.
After you have finished coking the spinach, remove the pouch from the microwave, and then carefully cut open the pouch, pouring the spinach into a bowl or onto a plate.
Stove Top
Get a 3-quart pot of rapidly boiling of water going, then once the water has reached the full boil, place the unopened pouch of spinach into the water. Let the pouch sit in the boiling water for 22 minutes, turning the pouch over after the first 11 minutes of cooking. Once the spinach has cooked for 22 minutes, carefully remove the very hot pouch from the boiling water.
Flavor
Overall the flavor of the Green Giant Spinach in Butter Sauce is very good. Be sure to thoroughly mix the spinach in its butter sauce before serving, or you'll find the overall flavor of the dish to be quite uneven.
The butter sauce really is light when mixed properly, giving the spinach a pleasant flavor that makes this veggie quite tasty to eat.
This Green Giant spinach offering is cut-leaf, so you aren't dealing with whole spinach leaves here. Overall, the cut-leaf format makes this meal literally easy to swallow, though I did find a few pesky stems or strings in this spinach.
