Review of Guinness World Record Museum in Niagara Falls, ON
This Museum Looks Cool from the Outside, but it Wasn't Quite What I Expected
These cool things outside of the museum definitely made us want to go inside. We had a coupon for $1 off each ticket but it still ended up costing us $24.52 for two tickets.
What we Expected
Based on the cool things going on outside of the museum, we expected a lot more cool statues and things to play with INSIDE the museum. After all, it was the World's Tallest Man and his chair that really made us interested in this attraction.
What we Got
Instead, this museum turned out to be a lot simpler than expected. Once inside we quickly found out that this museum requires a lot of reading. All over the walls and in cases there were Guinness World Record facts posted around in paragraph form with either a picture or an actual object. I don't see why you can't just read the book to see most of this stuff!
There were a few statues and things inside but not nearly as many as I expected. Basically the World's Tallest Man was there again, along with the World's Shortest Lady. There were then some replicas of some things like the biggest pearl or the smallest camera. Some may have been original but most looked like replicas. Other than those few statues and items, almost everything else was something you had to read. Not very exciting if you ask me.
The only other extra thing we enjoyed was the looping video which played to show the biggest domino chain as it went through all of it's twist and turns and tricks. That was pretty neat - but I bet you I could find it on You Tube if I wanted to.
The museum was also small so when a field trip of kids came in after us, there wasn't even a lot of space for us to walk around and read the facts posted all over.
Overall
I highly recommend going to check out the OUTSIDE of the Guinness World Record Museum but I wouldn't go in if I were you. Most of these facts you can read just by buying the book itself rather than paying the high ticket prices. We did spend a lot of time there, just because it was cold and rainy out and we wanted to get our money's worth. However after going through it I do have to say the only real cool things about this museum are on the outside. You can sit in the World's Tallest Man's chair for free! There are many other things in the Clifton Hill area that are more entertaining for kids and adults alike.
